YAE2019 Court Maintenance Team Leader

The Court Maintenance Team Leader engages and leads a large group of court moppers, training them so they can complete their on-court role in a professional, efficient and safe manner.

As a Team Leader, we would ask you to:
Attend pre-event and on-site event meetings, including the Volunteer Orientation;
Complete recruitment & safeguarding training and other role-specific training where required;
Lead a team of volunteers, including liaising with Badminton England staff to support recruitment, rostering of volunteers and identifying on-site role requirements;
Liaise with Badminton England to communicate and engage with the relevant Volunteer team from appointment, to event arrival and post-event thank you;
Help plan and deliver quality role-specific training to the relevant team to ensure they fully understand their role, delivering with confidence;
Attend a post-event meeting, reporting on what went well at the event and any feedback;
Abide by the Badminton England Volunteer Code of Conduct and Confidentiality Agreement.

As Court Maintenance Team Leader, we would like you to:
Be comfortable and confident leading a team consisting of individuals and groups of young people (which may include groups aged 14-18 years);
Deliver engaging role specific training to Court Moppers to help them understand their role;
Provide guidance so they can complete their roles in a professional, efficient and safe manner;
Check Court Moppers are suitably clothed, and there is no branding on display;
Allocate Court Moppers to courts for matches in a timely manner;
Demonstrate duty of care for their team, including distributing meal vouchers in a timely fashion and scheduling adequate break times;
Liaise with the Technical Officials and Field of Play Entrance Team Leader, to make sure Court Moppers are correctly lined up in time before going on court;
Liaise with Referee and Umpires to gain feedback on Court Mopping performance;
Liaises with school leaders and teachers on site;
Lead the Court Mopper Team Members effectively.
