Volunteering Opportunity - YAE2018 Court Maintenance Team Member, Court Maintenance Team Members play a crucial role on the Field of Play, following instructions from the Umpire to make sure the playing surface is clean and safe. Team Leader: Court Maintenance Team Leader (Volunteer) Team: Court Maintenance As a Court Maintenance Team Member, we may reasonably expect you to: - Follow instructions provided to you by the Court Maintenance Team Leader - Be ready to go on court when called by the Court Maintenance Team Leader, and lether know if you need to leave the waiting area - Volunteer alongside a second Court Mopper on one court within the Badminton Field of Play - Mop the playing surface when instructed to do so by the attending umpire and during breaks in play - Stay alert and concentrate during the game and look for umpire requests - Understand you are part of a large televised event and so it is essential you are discreet, well-presented and professional both on and off court at all times. When do you volunteer? - There is a selection of shifts for you to indicate your availability. - Whilst we will do everything we can to accommodate your preferences, there may be times where we cannot meet your preferences and in which case, we will contact you to discuss suitable alternatives. - All shift timings are correct at the time of recruitment. However some changes may occur in the build-up and during the event itself. We will share any changes with as much notice as possible. - Weekend shifts are usually only available to volunteers who have volunteered earlier during the Championships. If you are a teacher/coach applying on behalf of a school/club group, please specify in your application how many young people you have in your group and the name of your school/club. If you are a young person applying for the Deputy Team Leader position, please specify your interest in your application.
